A whole-person perspective
Chinese medicine considers the person as a whole. During your assessment, Ellen asks about your main concern as well as sleep, eating habits, emotions, and your broader health history. These details help guide an individualized treatment.
What treatment involves
Acupuncture uses fine needles placed at selected points on the body. Ellen’s approach emphasizes gentle technique and using the fewest needles appropriate for each treatment.
Your comfort matters. Let Ellen know if you feel discomfort so she can adjust the treatment. Needles are typically retained for about 20 minutes while you rest.
Care beyond the appointment
Your response and goals help shape your course of treatment. Ellen discusses follow-up care with you and revisits the plan as you go.
